Just floating along...and enjoying the day

Sonia and the girls arrived last night after a long slow day of driving...but they made it safe and sound and hungry which is a good thing for me!
Maddie has grown up so much, it is is hard to believe that she is my little grandaughter that I visited in May. I think she will surpass of of the females in the family when it comes to height! I was so happy to see both Kaleigh and Maddie, but most of all, my dear daughter,Sonia, who got everyone's gear into the little car, along with a sick doggie, and a Costco order from Emil and myself...ha-ha... She did so good!
Thank-you Sonia!
The day was a perfect beach day...MAddie read her book

Both Maddie and Kaleigh took to the new floaty chairs like ducks to water...

Then there was the Goddess herself, in her new floaty just soaking up the rays

The weather was perfect and we spent the whole afternoon at the beach just soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the lake. The top 3 inches has now warmed up so it is more than swimmable...It was perfect for enjoying Sonia's new floaty chairs!

Two peas in a pod!

Later in the evening, Kaleigh had a little driving lesson from Sonia

And last but not least we enjoyed making smores over the campfire before the campfire ban comes on after the long weekend.
We put the Magic Colour packets that Annette sent, into the fire to see if it would change colours...and it produced a magical HArry Potter style flame in greens and blues ...Thanks Annette for making our night so much fun!

Kaleigh's Banana Boat sort of fell into the fire and more or less burned up...but she salvaged a piece of it.
Maddie toasted the most perfect marshmellow

The flames licked greens and blues around the wood, keeping us all entertained for over an hour! The neighbours joined us for our beach fire... It was the first one for us this year. They, on the other hand have had many right in front of their 5th wheel next door to our house and we have been their guests on many a night. It was good to fianlly be able to reciprocate! Their boys and our girls got along pretty darn good...I think it will be a great few weeks for all of them....especially when their 16 year old daughter arrives!
