More of Saturday afternoon...
Doing puzzles on the beach... in addition to playing crib all day...
It was a scorcher away from the beach, but a cool wind kept the temps down at the beach. Maddie spent more time int he water than KAleigh...and the water was warm, but that little wind made you feel a bit cool on the shoulders. We doodled that rest of the afternoon away , at the beach, after we returned from the park. Tonight we waited for the fireworks, but they never materialized.
Don't be alarmed... a few war injuries to Kaleigh's leg after she took a spill off my bike the other day... She is mending up nicely. Maddie is taking riding lessons, daily, with Grumps, but hasn't much patience for the whole experience....especially after seeing Kaleigh with the bloody leg!
Pretty Kaleigh at the park today for Sunshine BAy, Harrop Days , or whatever it was called
Cute Maddie
I think K. was trying to put Mads to sleep!
Always the comedian...

Bye bye Annette and Soleil ! Bye-bye Sonia
What to do with glow sticks when it wasn't quite dark enough out
Sonia and Spike...their last night before leaving the girls and heading back to Victoria...boo-hoo.Grumps will be on kid duty ,while mom gets a little break before school starts up again, and I hold the fort down at work.
gathering of the clan at the bonfire
Spike and Soleil sharing the rest of Sonia's buster bar
What could be finer...
My angel , Maddie
My Alien, Kaleigh
Kaleigh and MAddie having fun in the Hampster Wheel
Our bonfire got rained out on Saturday night. Roasting marshmellows over the BBQ on the deck, wasn't the greatest, as it bailed down rain outside.
We were still happy campers!
.
A beautiful little sunset tonight...pink sky at night...sailor's delight!
Back to Sunday....
On Sunday, Emil drove Annette and Soleil to Kelowna . It was the first flight for kitty...she was going home with her Mama Annette! We've been her godparents for about three years now, and finally conditions were right for Annette to once again be mom to her cat.
Apparently she flew quite nicely, and is having fun exploring her new digs at Annette's house.
Annette ,just before leaving... cute new hair colour ,wouldn't you say! We sure had a nice visit and for a change, both Soni and Annette were here at the same time.
The big game of Mexican Train... I can't recall who won???
Sonia and Emil taking in a few rays, but you can see that it wasn't a heat wave that day.

Happy Birthday Party for Morgan
Call it a mini family reunion...It brought most of our family together for the first time in a long time... and best of all... Virginia nd Corey and Kendra, and Correna and Joe and Derrick and Barb and Jamie and Ethan were there , and so was myself with my two daughters and two grandaughters.. and by jiminy...Arlene came. Sad to say, we were just missing Eva, and Dave and Mackenzie. Not bad to get us three sisters together and five of the six niece and nephews. Now, on Morgan's side of the family, his brother Will and wife, Ellen came and the rest couldn't make it...but Morgan's friends made up for the lack of his sisters and brothers !
All in all everyone hugged and laughed and told stories and lies and kept each other amused through -out the evening! The dinner was great ( Derrick BBQ'd) and the salads were delicious and the deserts divine! Our group went home with full tummies, that is for sure! Certainly was fun to see everyone again...Now I wished I took more pics of the cousins...like in a group...too much going on to stay focused!
The kids all watch as the cake is readied!
Outside, Jamie is a chatterbox, going around to each person with the water bottle...too cute
That is her mom, Barb, above her, then Joyce, then Pat, a good family friend of Joyce and Morgans
Correna and Joe gave Morgan a beautiful piece of artwork depicting a roper lasooing a calf...all done with a method of scratching the surface to reveal the colour...and it was signed by the artist! Very special, indeed, with incredible detail...like every hair on the horse!
Back to the cake...Virginia sets out the big 6-5!
Lynn brought along her some of her garden successes for Joyce!
Sonia and Derrick laugh it up with Morgan , in between!
Maddie and Kaleigh saying cheese...before they ate it
Lynn, checking for mosquitoes maybe?...and Joyce taking five
The three sisters ... a rare site together! Nice , because we know those times are far and few between.
And then there was cake!
