Your Save-On-More Account

Did you get your new Save on More card? If so, you can register it at this website and then update your address etc. and you will gain an additional 1000. points. I thought that was good, since I am saving up to get a new iron....however, I was going crazy browsing the online catalogue, as there are many wonderful items that you can get for five thousand points, if you pay some extra. I am saving up for a new iron, since my Tefal beauty, bit it, just like my two other Tfals...I don't think I want another. Is it a measure of your good wifeleyness by how many irons you've gone through... I'd say in the 38 years that I ahave been married, I probably have owned no less than ten irons...three of which are sitting in my basement right now, and two that I ditched when we moved from Surrey... that makes about one every three years... not a good track record. Right up there with mattresses. I have had this wonderful contour Simmons beauty rest -la-dee-da mattress for 4 years, and once again my back and knee are so in agony when I wake up, that going to bed doesn't interest me much. The fine print ont he warranty says that the sag has to be more than an inch and a half on a pillow-top mattress...so my back has to sag that much also... a big pain is all it is. A ten year warranty means squat so far as I can figure. Maybe Sears will just take it back. I'll try to persue Sears, after I hear back from the Simmons manufacturer.
oh yes, back to the Save on Rewards. I once netted a food processer in that way...
Looking through the catalogue, however, I see things like a tea maker,a belgium waffle maker, a Portable GPS system and all kinds of cameras and goodies...even nice dog food dispensers and dog cots...so cute...
My inside source said the new Rewards cataloque will come out in April and they will offer a clothes steamer... I might try that instead of the new iron...I must be patient. Anyhow, my ironing pile is way down since Emil retired...:-) Yea!
So lots happening... poor AUnty MAry fell and couldn't drag herself up into her chair... she is back home after a day in Emergency. Uncle PAul had more transfusions, and is hanging in there...so that is good.
We are off to John and Ronda's next week-end and Virginia and Corey and Kendra are coming up this way. I hope I get to see them after we return from seeing Matayas new gift!
Happy St. PAddy's day on Monday... Janice, our Irish friend has invited us over for Irish stew and soda bread ...should be a yummy dinner. Tomorrow, we will have Deb and Ashley over for a nosh, and maybe play a few rounds of Train...
Okey dokey...I think I need to hit the jacuzzi... we walked to the ferry and back today...tricky on the knees.
Oh yes, if you have Itunes, you know that you can listen to world wide radio stations online while you surf the net...I found a great rock and roll station with awesome tunes... just minimise Itunes once you have your station selected and then go about your Internet or email business... fun
have a great week-end...Love ya all...

More pics of little People and a Big Dog

Eva sent me this one of Kenzie...she is growing up so fast... and still looks like Eva when she was that age!

Ronda sent these of little Noah...cute eh?

They are so cute at this age, when they begin to smile and laugh out loud..

Max, the LAbradoodle, after MArgo probably brushed him for a day!

Sunday in Nakusp

The day was perfect for a drive...Joyce did the driving...Thanks Joyce!

With some time to kill, we took a stroll down to the boat launch. The fog was hanging over the lake to give us a surreal vista.

Yep, that is the gangplank going down to the lake....I guess the poles at the bottom of the walk way is to stop you from sliding into the lake on frosty days!

Surprise...Barb and Derrick and their cute little family arrived at eleven from Kamloops. Nice timing! The kids needed to burn off a bit of energy before lunch. Nakusp has a beautiful long walkway above the lake, for that very purpose.

The walkway is at the top right of the photo, just below those houses. You can see how low the water is right now.

Little Jamie was playing shy for about two seconds!

Joyce and Derrick...good to see him again.

After our visits, overlooking Slocan LAke, but on our way home, south of Naksup.

Derrick and Moi...Joyce took the pic...thanks Joyce!
Yes, we decided it would be a great day to go up and visit Uncle Paul, as his health is failing. Derrick, too wanted to have a visit with him, so he and Barb and the kids drove down from Kamloops and met us for lunch and our visit. We had a good little visit with Auntie Mary...she is such a sweety..can hardly see with the use of only one eye and teetering along, trying to get us tea... it is hard to see both her and uncle in so fragile of a state. She is 88 and he 89... and they have been together for 70 years...Amazing!
Mildred and Phil had driven 30 hours to get up there, and young Gerry also drove extraordinary amounts of time to come up from Sacramento. Everyone loves Uncle Paul and wants to be there for Auntie,as well. Ken had been up, and Rob and ROn and Nika were on their way.
We finally did get into the hospital room to visit with Uncle and he was awake and cognizant, however you could see, he had been through a rough week. In any case, it was good that we got to visit with him and I hope he doesn't suffer in the days to come. He just wondered what all the fuss is about and why so many people are coming to visit him. Bless his soul!
