Happy Birthday John!

Happy Birthday Bro! My goodness...I don't know how your mom coped with two of you less than a year apart! Now it takes two women to manage the the two of you!
On Thursday of last week, John and Ronda and Emil and I had a pleasant round of golf and altho some of us incurred a few lost balls, John seemed to be the one finding the most of them! We took time out after to have a nice lunch up at the Balfour golf course. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good lunch special or a decent burger!
Later, John and Ronda came over and so did JAnice and Gord for a nice fishy dinner and a little bs around the fire
out front for a change.
Our lake is going down quite rapidly so it won't be long before we will be having fires down at the beach. Emil has powerwashed the decks and witht he onset of decent weatehr, he has set up the canopy on our bedroom deck,so we are able to enjoy breakfast out in the sunshine. Nice to see a change to the weather!

I should take a pic of the aftermath of the fire on the lawn right there. We cooked the lawn into a dead round brown spot.

Ever happy, Janice and Gord.

It was fun to be out in the front yard around the fire. Remember the new fire rules state that a campfire can only be .5 meters tall and .5 meters wide and there is to be no burning of piles of anything now. Campfires have to have 1 meter cleared around the perimeter.
Be fire safe this summer.
Have a great week... we had such a busy one last week, that I am enjoying the last few quiet days.

Photos that Joyce sent me..

Morgan and Joyce before Angie and Russ's wedding...and there is Amigo, Joyce's walking partner!
Isn't he the cutest?

A lovely family photo of Derrick and Barb and kidlets

And guess who rode the Trolley? I think Joyce should have loaned her hat to Emil!
Yes, Virginia and Kendra and Joyce all took the trip with Emil on Monday, his birthday.
Nice photo Joyce!Maybe it was Corey who took it, but I think he opted to golf instead of tram!

Happy Birthday to Emil- 61 and Holding!

Emil spent his whole day driving the trolley down at Lakeside Park for his birthday. This was his wish come true. He is a volunteer for the trolley society and after some lengthy training, he can now both drive the trolley and be the brakeman. In fact with two on board, they take turns at each job, driving from Lakeside PArk to the Prestige and back again, picking up and dropping off passengers as they go. Once you have a day ticket ( $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids over 6, free if they are under 6 and a family pass for the day is $8.00), you can get on and off at your desired location, stay at the mall or the park and return to where your car is parked
- all with your one ticket for the day . Emil loves the fact that he gets to meet visitors from all over the world and he loves the look on the kids faces as they climb on board for their first trolley ride. Today he had Kendra and Virginia and Joyce as passengers and he even saw Kenny and Ginny driving by.. so keep your eyes open for the trolley and give it a wide berth...especially if Emil is the conductor!
After work, I picked up Emil and we drove out to the BBI ( Balfour Beach Inn) and was joined by our neighbours for a get together and dinner. It was also Deb, our neighbour's birthday, so there was lots of teasing going on.
After a good dinner, we all came back to our house for chocolate birthday cake and icecream and lovely flapper pie that Francis made especially for Emil! It was delicious too!

I missed the candles being blown out ,by a hair!

There is the cake that I made, that they shared..
So HAppy Birthday to my hubby and he did listen to all of his many messages and he will get back to each of you in the next few days.
Thank-you all fo making his day even more special!

Angie and Russ get married!

The sun came out in time for the ceremony in the back yard of Luba and Larry, mom and dad to Angelina. It was a beautiful setting to once again have the blessing ceremony to bestow the good wishes and blessings of everyone present on the new bride and groom. I am impressed that these young ones are keeping the traditions of their heritage and embracing all it has to offer.

They bow to the parents and get close to the earth , showing how humble they are and respectful of both.

Angie and Russ enter the hall as Mr. and Mrs. Lundquist !

Their first and most beautiful dance ends with a fancy dip by Angie, impressing the crowd!

I thought this was a nice photo of Jean and her two sons, Russell, and Ryan.
We all enjoyed the afternoon with lots of reminiscing going on with our sweet rellies that most of us hadn't seen for years. Certainly, it was nice to see Les and Dee there, as well as Lynne and Dale and of course, Glen and Roseann... all the Brewer Boy elders now! Thanks for taking the time to come to Rus and Angie's wedding. I will post more family pics in the days to come. In the meantime, I have embedded a slideshow on the right hand sidebar, so you can flip thru that to see more pics. Click on any one to enlarge it.
Hope everyone got home safely... we did!
