The Big Smoosh!

Thanks Annette for sharing this moment by moment photo collection of Ronda getting inducted into the family! Too bad the opening shot was missed...FYI, it was a large corner chunk of black forest cake loaded up with icing...and delivered by Carl... I heard that Auntie Sophie was close to getting it, herself!

Welcome to SuzanneSomers.com!

Looks like Suzanne is offering some pretty nice looking jewellery, but be aware that anything shipped to Canada may incur GST, duties and customs clearance fees..so check it all out before ordering. Aside from that, I just enjoyed looking through her website.

Happy Canada Day! Thanks Lynn for making it so special for me!

Oh my gosh...talk about fireworks! The neighbours have about ten different units staying on their property and each one must have brought ten different fireworks to set off. Althought they started last night, they still had a hundred or so to go tonight... and yes, some were the paltry red and green Roman candles, but many of them were the sizzle-explode type. Just the kind Silky hates. She has been so scared out her little fur coat, that she is panting like a race horse and trembling like a leaf ..I should say shaking like a leaf. I gave her some benadryl and she still hasn't settled down....poor mutt...must of thought someone was shooting a gun at her. Good thing we opted out of another bonfire night at the neighbours. She would have chewed her way into a cupboard, had she been alone.

So back to Canad day week-end... Cuz Lynn came out...bearing fruitful gifts of wonderous foods, playful duckies, and my favorito, a York patty! Yum...plus a zuccini from her garden! I am impressed...my zuccini is one inch tall. We cooked up a mess of frozen trout on the BBQ and We used these new aluminum foil BBQ trays to do our veggies and potatoes on the BBQ, before we did the fish. We sliced veggies like onions and green and yellow peppers and Lynn's new zuccini, and sprinkled them with Greek seasoning and salt and pepper and a little olive oil, then tossed them into the tinfoil BBQ tray which we had sprayed with Pam first. For the Potaotoes, we sliced them lengthwise and put them in a tupperware with a little water, then nuked them just until they could be pierced with a fork. Then, I drained them ,aqnd sprinkled them with Greek seasoning and a bit of olive oil, then put them into a seperate tinfoil tray . Both trays went into the BBQ and sizzled away for 15 or 20 minutes. Lynn tossed and turned them occasionally and before we knew it, they were browning up. The potaoes began to look like french fries and started to lightly brown on the outside. Lynn had brought Corn on the cob, so between the corn, the roasted veggies, the trout and a salad , I don't think we could have consumed another drop of food!

It was all delicious!...So much so, that Emil even ate a few of the roasted veggies!

Later last night,w e packed ourselves up with chairs and beverages, and headed over to the bonfire that Bill's kids had built in the huge firepit at Bills. The wood was a little damp,s o it didn't exacly burn right away, but eventually, Ashley dipped into Bills stash of chopped firewood, and that got it going once and for all.

Andy and Kathleen, our summer neighbours ,four doors to the east of us, cmae over to join the festivities. Well, we talked about Bill, we learned some Physic stuff from his neice, and Andrew kept us amused with witty jokes...his favourite is to try to demote me to a Cee from a Bee! It was good to see them again, and Bill's daughter, Debby and her Hubby were seriously probably have more fun on that beach, then they ever did in all the time that Bill was alive...another bittersweet moment. So sad , if you look at it that way.

Oh-oh... I just fell asleep.

Okay, I'll have to continue the saga of the week-end tomorrow, as I think that I cannot keep my eyes open anymore. Good night. Have a great day off tomorrow.
