Another Wonderful Catch...

Congrats Dick...Lynn said that you took first place in a fishing derby and look at the beauty you caught...18 pounds... hmmm Emil will have a little catching up to do!

Does the tu-tu look familiar? Funny how these things have a life of their own. Looks like little Miss G. is having fun grocery shopping...but what is that Brown furry thing she found on the shelves?!!!

Our drive out of Surrey on Sunday...raining like crazy!

This was the happy couple before Ronda got inducted into the family... we'll soon have photos of that event..

Yep, thats Little Peter doing a little Cooler Diving.. He was going to the bottom!
BTW..he is only about 39 inches tall,so don't mistake that for a tall cooler! Lookin' good Pete!

Just thought I'd add a few more photos of the 25th and also of Dick and his big fish... Maybe Emil will catch one that size some day! Was that in the ocean or in a lake?
Looks like this week-end could be another fishy one, if the weather holds out. Lynn hopes to come over and do a little Canada Day celebrating in Harroponia!

Okay...time for bed...seems like I am wide awake at 6:00am, even if I go to bed at half past midnight. Speaking of bedtime...keep your eye in the sky early on the week-end, particularly Saturday night just as the moon is rising. It will be at it's lowest point in the sky and will appear giant sized as it rises...called a SummerMoon Illusion. It is only an illusion, but a good one.
Nighty night and have a great Thursday!
Sonia is getting all ready for their big 20th grad reunion on the week-end. See her pics on
Facebook. This is the fastest growijng website, and lots of fun. Join up if you haven't already!

Happy 25th Carl and Karen/ Sonic trip to Van and Back on the week-end!

Carl and Karen, Michael, and Ashley

Connie, Ryan, Emil and Annette...sorry for the blur..my camera was on the wrong setting...P.

Annette and her dad's cousin's, Shannon and Kim

From the back left...Wayne, Karen, Rosemarie, Donna,Brian
Front Row: Uncle George, Carl, Karen, and Auntie Sophie

Here's the Kuzek family again, only this time with all the hubbies and wives, and grandkids and great grandkids. I'll let you figure them all out...

And last for this blog:

Carl's thank-you speech ...Click on the bottom left arrow, if the middle one doesn't work. This is a new feature of blogger.

It was a bundle of fun to reconnect with Emil's long lost relatives! They weren't really lost, but for some of us, it had been close to 30 years since we last visited. So it was Carl and Karen's 25th wedding anniversary and all of Carl's 5 siblings attended, as well as their children and grandchildren and of course, Aunti Sophie and Uncle George, Carl's mom and Dad. They and Carl's sister Rose Marie, and his other sister, Donna, all came out from Saskatchewan. I am embarrased to say, that I never recognized Donna at all...but in hindsite, she hasn't changed a bit, except grown lots taller! She is all married now and seems happier than ever!

Rosemarie, hadn't changed a bit and looks like her mom all over again. She is a granma now, since AJ ( her son) has had a little boy, and a two month old cutey little girl, with his wife. AJ has lived out west, but is now in the process of moving back to Saskatchewan...and bought a house there, for under forty thousand...Whew...that about takes care of the property taxes alone, in Vancouver!

One thing about that family, they are all pretty darn close and it shows when a family with six adult children can all be rounded up for one special son and his wife. Last time that happened...4 1/2 years ago, someone said...

So it was wonderful for Emil to chat with Uncle George, Carl's dad, and tho, he has been battling cancer, he seemed to be in great spirits and was even cleaning up the paper plates, at the end of the party! Auntie Sophie did most of the cooking and blessed us with baked perogies filled with potaoe and cheese and dill, and topped with "melt in your mouth, to die for" cream. There were mushrooms in cream to go over the baked Cornmeal, and therewere cabbage rolls and the traditional baked noodles...(called Lapsha in Russian). In any case, they too were delicious. Then there were the sliced cucs in mayonaise...almost had a little extra meat with those, as both Brian and Mike had a try at slicing cucumbers on Karen's mandolin! Chop-chop...lesson to be learned...

The Mandolin don't see much difference between Ukes and Cucs!

The two Boys were sporting look-a-like tidy white bandages on their most important finger!

It had been years since we saw Auntie Vickie and her daughter Kim...and it was an instant bond between Kim and Annette , all over again... and oh yes, our daughter Annette was there...Now that was fun! Thanks to Kim for giving us all a drive up to Vietnamese land... You'll be happy to know that we moved along to Delaneys pub instead, and later cabbed it back to the Hilton! It was a fun night for all three of us, tho Emil was pooping out a little before Annette and I wanted to call it quits... Yep, green around the gills!

I don't want to leave anyone out, but my eyeballs are going down for the count... It was fun to see everyone again, including Karen's parents ,and her sisters and brother and especially to reconnect with all the grown up children..Michael, Mike, Ryan and Ashley, and AJ and once again see KAren and Mike, Brian and Connie, Wayne and Corinne, Terry and Shannon and girls, and Scott and Susan and Kaitlan, and of course, Little Peter and John and Ronda, and even the old ball team, with Chris and Gary and Denise... My goodness, it was like a step back in time... I missed visiting with Auntie Helen and Jan, but they had to run back to the hospital, as unfortunately, their son, Bobby, was back in and is still waiting for a donor liver... so sign up those organ donor cards!

Also a big cheer to Maryanne for getting on the blower to get us oldheimers off our perch. I will say that driving to Vancouver one day, and returning the next, is kind of crazy, but it all worked out fine, and I got to go to Costco!

Near midnight now... I'll load up some pics, but will have to wait till someone sends me the choice ones of Ronda being inducted officially into the family... lets say it involved Black Forest Cake. She took it like a trooper! Welcome Ronda.

Forgive me, if I missed anyone..email me pics if you want to see them on the blog... and Welcome any newcomers!
