Last Friday after my final day of work

Ok, I will try this one more time as the first time, my whole post and photo collection would not upload ,so I am discouraged with my blog these days. However, retirement might get me moving on it again...either that or I will just let it lie like a sleeping dog.
Last Friday, my first surprise came when a beautiful mini garden basket full of greenery and flowers, arrived for me at work ,early in the morning...( see bottom photo) . I was in tears as I read the card... wishing me well in my retirement form John and rondo and Phoebe and Ron... So sweet of them to make the start of my last day just perfect. Then Wayne, our work associate, walked in and presented me with a box of scrumptious napoleons from Fomi's bakery...the new one across from the Hume school on Nelson Ave. We enjoyed those rich babies for desertle after our yummy lunch which Chris and Carolyne had ordered my favorite shrimp melt and house salad from the Main Street Diner.Chris brought lunch back with my Happy Retirement Balloon! Once again I was so touched!
As the day came to a close , my dear Emil arrived with a big bottle of Sumac Ridge champagne... (a brand I would highly recommend) and Chris and I toasted my last day,and Our Saturday co-worker, Patricia, arrived and joined us for another toast or two, until we finished off the bottle.
With the shop closed down ,w e migrated over to Mike's place at the Hume and settled into the crowd for beer and natchos. Wayne and Patty joined us and Carolyne arrived with gorgeous roses for me. The hours passed as we ate wings and natchos, drank beer, and laughed and joked as the idea of boss and employee ended and a new friendship developed. We had a great evening out and that was just the first of my retirement week-end... So good to be home again... It is like being a stranger in my own house... no need to rush and there will be time to do what needs doing... and even what doesn't NEED doing...just what I feel liek doing... as on Tuesday, when I headed off to Kelowna for the day with my sister Joyce...I like that feeling of being able to!

Cheers and a toast... here is Patty on the left, and Carolyne on the right

Wayne and Patty..now residents of Nelson... and he is a fine jeweller as well who trained with Chris, years ago... Now he spends a lot of time building world class model airplanes and doing astronomy. You can visit him and his telescope at Lakeside park after the sun goes down on a Friday night!( especially when it is warmer out)

My favourite cute couple... Chris and Carolyne, who have treated me so well during the five years in their employ.

Here is Happy Me and my Sweet Emil with my retirement balloon and the my new mini garden from John and Ronda and Ron and Phoebe ...with love... Love you all too! And a big Thank-you for making my last day so special!!!!!
